This blog gives more detailed info about amethyst in the BioMat. Amethyst is used in many of the BioMats, whether it is the pro-size, the Mini or the Pillow. (The pro-size is all amethyst, the Mini and Pillow are both half amethyst/half tourmaline. Please also note that both the king-size and queen-size BioMats are all amethyst.)

There is a synergistic effect when amethyst is combined with far infrared heat. When far infrared heat passes through amethyst (as it does in the BioMat), the infrared rays have a shorter wavelength so they penetrate more deeply into the body’s tissues, muscles and cells. It is the combination of amethyst and far infrared heat (and negative ions) that make the BioMat so unique!

Further, infrared heat/light changes when it passes through amethyst and this is the power of the bio-mat. Research documentation shows that without amethyst, infrared heat/light is not nearly as effective. When infrared heat/light is refracted through amethyst, geometrical patterns and organization occur for the body’s elevated healing capacity.
