You can read anything on-line:  this blog is about the BioMat and the internet.

Not all information on the internet is true! In fact, there is a lot of misleading info about bio-mats and Richway International on-line. So, we are here to remedy that:

  • Be leary of paid reviews; some bloggers and product reviewers are paid to get a positive review. These reviews may include inaccurate claims and downright false product information. This is unethical and certainly doesn’t help the customer.
  • Some BioMat knock-off mats contain crystals/stones on both sides of the mat. This can actually be a safety hazard. The BioMat has a thermal protection layer at the bottom of the mat to keep excess far infrared heat from travelling under the mat and onto the surface it is lying on (either a chair or bed, etc.). Further, the user receives more of the far infrared heat benefits as the heat comes up vs. going down into the underlying surface.
    • Competitor mats with stones on either side may not have this protection. This allows the heat to travel up towards the user and down to whatever surface the mat is placed on. Over time, the surfaces that come in contact with a double-sided mat could be damaged by the heat. And the user is losing more of the heat benefits as it travels down and away from the user.
  • Richway International is based in Hawaii, not South Korea. All product design and improvements, customer service, order processing and quality control are completed at the headquarters office in Honolulu. The manufacturing contractor for the BioMat is located in South Korea.
  • All bio-mats contain a tourmaline layer within them. In addition, both the Mini BioMat and the Amethyst & Tourmaline Pillow have alternating rows of amethyst and tourmaline crystals. This aids in producing the same amount of negative ions as the professional-size BioMat.
