This blog entry is about far infrared heat in the BioMat.

First of all, there is a spectrum of visible to invisible light. Far infrared light is right on the cusp of visible light (next to red light). The BioMat is a mix of medium to far infrared with light wavelengths ranging from 6.5 to 14 microns. This is important because this frequency range is highly compatible with the human body. Since our bodies naturally emit approximately 9.32 microns of infrared, the body easily recognizes and absorbs the BioMat’s frequency. This is one of the reasons far infrared in the bio-mat is so healing.

Further, the BioMat’s frequency of far infrared penetrates deeply and evenly (6-8 centimeters or 2-3+ inches into the body). This depth contributes significantly to the BioMat’s healing benefits because it “reaches in” at a cellular level, as well as connects to our vital organs.

We frequently get asked to compare the BioMat with red light therapy. As red light therapy does, the BioMat’s infrared can also improve skin, enhance microcirculation, and relieve pain/inflammation. But in addition to these benefits, the BioMat’s main advantage is its deep penetration; this deep penetration impacts our body’s water (70-80% of our body) by increasing our internal heat. This, in turn, causes detoxing, sweating and ultimately, elevating our core body temperature (which benefits our immune system).

There is a lot of research that has been done about the benefits of far infrared heat. These studies show improved blood circulation, improved sleep, increased microcirculation, and relief from pain/inflammation. Some of these studies are conducted on saunas and we tell customers the Richway BioMat is four elements (far infrared heat, negative ions, amethyst and tourmaline) for a sauna’s one element (far infrared heat) for about the same money!

Lastly, far infrared heat is one of the main reasons it is important to hydrate before, during and after using the BioMat. Want to learn more? Let’s connect!
