This blog post features a continuation of beginning BioMat usage. Yes, we have more to share with you about this important topic … and if you are interested in this topic, please be sure to read the past two blog entries for additional information.

As you begin to explore using your BioMat, you may notice the temperatures on the control unit of both your professional-size BioMat and Mini BioMat increase in 9° Fahrenheit or 5° Centigrade increments. The highest temperature (158° Fahrenheit) is comparable to sauna settings or very active detoxing sessions. (We do not recommend doing high heat thermo-therapy sessions until your body has gently and slowly acclimated to the BioMat.)

Another interesting thing to note about the temperature control unit is the lowest heat setting of 95° Fahrenheit is actually below our body temperature. This is why we can use bio-mats during the summer months and warmer seasons/climates.

Infrared heat stays in the body for eight to 10 hours. Because of this, it is suggested to use the BioMat two times per day, spacing out the treatments eight to 10 hours apart. (After you build up time and temp, you will be able to sleep on the BioMat eventually, if you wish.) Also, keep in mind the infrared heat is core level heat, staying in the body versus a heating pad that is topical to the skin only. (The skin cools off as soon as you remove the heating pad.)

With regard to the heat, you may wish to take your body temperature before and after using the BioMat. This can be especially important “data” for you if you are intentionally trying to increase your body temperature. (Many health professionals say this is helpful for a cancer journey, Lyme’s, autoimmune diseases, etc.)
