Today’s blog will cover an important topic of paying for your BioMat.

First of all, many of our customers would like for their BioMat to be reimbursed by their insurance. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the professional-size BioMat, therefore, this is the product that’s most likely to be covered by insurance. The codes that follow may be useful when submitting this healing product for insurance reimbursement/coverage:

  • FDA Medical Device Est. Number: 2954299
  • HCPCS Code: E0221
  • Non-Participating Provider Number: 22852-8
  • 510K No: K072534.

To obtain insurance coverage or reimbursement for the BioMat, here’s some suggested steps:

  1. First, connect with your medical doctor to request the most appropriate product of the BioMat line for you and your health needs. (Note: don’t be surprised if you need to educate your doctor about all of the BioMat’s elements. Providing this information to your health care professional helps them to understand the BioMat’s role in your healing journey.)
  2. We will assist you in completing the Order Form (leave payment information blank).
  3. The BioMat’s parent company (Richway International) gives you a Medical Receipt. This and other forms plus the doctor’s prescription get submitted to your insurance provider. Be sure to keep all document copies.
  4. Follow up with your insurance provider regularly to determine the status.
  5. When it is approved, the insurance provider sends payment to Richway International.
  6. Once Richway International receives the check and processes the order, you can expect your BioMat delivered to your home/office.

You can expect this entire process to take six to 12 months. So, if you need your BioMat as soon as possible, it is likely better to purchase it and then work with your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • The advantage of purchasing it (and not following the steps above) is you can use the BioMat during the time you are waiting for the insurance company to determine if they will reimburse you.
  • The disadvantage is the insurance company may reject your claim and not pay for a BioMat for you.

Note: We don’t guarantee any health care provider or insurance carrier will reimburse for the BioMat. We are simply letting you know some options.
