As we are “out and about” sharing the BioMat, we tend to focus on who can use the BioMat, and there are a few BioMat contraindications (folks who should not use it). Also, please note that this blog post is for informational purposes only and is not intended to replace any medical advice. It is strictly a guideline and not a complete list. Please consult your physician or medical professional regarding what is correct for you and your individual health needs. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.

Here’s a list of people who are not recommended to use the BioMat:

  • Organ transplants within two years of transplant date. (Since the BioMat detoxes, using it could cause the body to reject/“detox” the transplanted organ.)
  • Renal or kidney failure. (Since the BioMat increases blood flow and oxygenation, using the BioMat pushes blood faster through the kidneys, taxing them even more than their already compromised state.)
  • External pacemakers. (This population is usually hospitalized.) Also, note that internal pacemakers are fine to use bio-mats.
  • Newborn babies. (It is best to wait until they are at least six months old and then, use only on two lowest settings or use with negative ions only.)
  • Heat-sensitive MS. (The “other” type of MS can utilize the mat.)

Another consideration is using the BioMat when pregnant. If someone uses the BioMat before they become pregnant, then they can use it like they have been (because their body is already accustomed to it). If they have not used it before becoming pregnant, it is best to not use the BioMat during pregnancy until after the baby is born. The main “issue” is the BioMat detoxes and it could “detox” the fetus, which of course is not the intended action.
