Several years ago, Richway International contacted us about staying appropriately within FDA guidelines. We changed some of our language on this website and we are happy to report, we comply!
At the time, Richway International required (and continues to require) us to stay in the FDA’s good graces. Therefore, we are not allowed to say the following about the bio-mat (and note, this language comes directly from the document we received from Richway):
- Do not mention the BioMat in the context of any disease, class of diseases or condition.
- Do not claim that the BioMat can cure or improve any disease, class of diseases or condition outside of the FDA-approved benefits.
- Do not use the word “support” or “maintain” where it implies the support of healing of any disease or condition. (When there is an implication, a claim is being made and this is not allowed or sanctioned by the FDA.)
- Do not make a statement or claim that refers to a characteristic sign or symptom of a disease. Signs of a disease are measured by a doctor (for example: blood pressure); disease symptoms are observed by the patient (for example: a headache). Both are used for diagnosis and are not allowed in conversations about the BioMat.
- Do not use photos that imply a disease, class of disease or implied treatment, prevention or cure of a disease or class of diseases.
- Do not state or imply that the BioMat is a substitute for a drug or treatment plan for a disease.
- Do not suggest that the BioMat plays a role in disease prevention or response to a disease. You may however, state that it supports the immune system as the immune system has a natural functional role, and is not a disease state. Notice the difference between 1) supports the body’s ability to resist infection, vs. 2) supports the immune system. In other words, #2 is allowed to be able to stay with the FDA’s guidelines; #1 is not.
Next week, we will discuss some statements and claims that are OK to share about bio-mats. Want to know more? Connect with us at 952-829-1919.
