As we move into the ultra busy month of December, we ask, “Is the BioMat a part of your holiday survival guide?” In this blog entry, we will share several ideas on how the answer can be “YES!”
First of all, we hear how stressed people are with the extra activities and amount of work the holidays bring. Whether it’s holiday baking, gift shopping/giving, decorating your house both inside and outside, going to Advent services or Christmas concerts, attending parties or giving parties, etc., all these activities are added onto already full lives, right?!
The BioMat can take us out of this frenetic energy and flurry of activities, and move us into reflection, contemplation and centeredness. The bio-mat facilitates relaxation in the following ways so you can enjoy this special time of year:
- Heat up your BioMat on high for 20-30 minutes before you use it. When you begin your session, decrease the heat to medium or whatever temperature is comfortable to you.
- Listen to relaxing music during your BioMat session. Also, to help you relax and reflect, listen to music at 25% less volume than you normally would.
- Be sure to drink water before, during and after using the mat. It is important to stay hydrated.
- If you have trouble “squeezing in” BioMat time, put it in your schedule or on your calendar and hold that time as sacred self-care. This is your special time of healing, meditating and rejuvenating.
- Process any feelings that come up as you lay on the BioMat. This helps you stay balanced and focused throughout the busy month.
