With still more to share about the BioMat and contraindications, here’s another blog post. Keep in mind the previous posts and the next two bullet points are highlighted from the parent company’s document (Richway International).
- People with diabetics should use the BioMat on low heat only (95-113F). This is because a diabetic’s skin is thin and from using the bio-mat, diabetics may experience low heat burn. (Once the skin is damaged or “broken,” it is challenging to recover.)
- For people with high blood pressure (hypertension), use the BioMat with caution and use only on low heat (95-113F). (Also, be aware that sudden changes in body temperature and/or weather temperature may cause an increase in blood pressure.)
Besides the conservative approach offered by Richway, our up-line (The BioMat Company) also shares its contraindication thoughts. Here are some of the most relevant points for your consideration:
- Many people can use the BioMat safely. It has been tested numerous times over the years (not only in the United States but around the world such as Korea and Japan, receiving FDA approvals as well as ISO, KETI and CE safety certifications). Richway International has gone above and beyond to make this a safe product!
- Besides the specifics mentioned in previous posts about contraindications, the following people should not use the bio-mat:
- If you are in renal or kidney failure, use the mat with no heat and/or with negative ions only. (The BioMat increases oxygenation and blood flow, pushing blood quicker through the kidneys. You don’t want to tax the kidneys if they are already in failure.)
- People with heat-sensitive multiple sclerosis (MS) should use with negative ions only and possibly the lowest heat settings. (Richway BioMat usage may be very beneficial for their nerves and cellular activity.) The other MS type can enjoy the full gamut of the mat.
