We have posted about this topic before but this blog includes advanced information about the BioMat and knock-offs.
While the bio-mat is subject to being copy-catted, it is important to understand the parent company (Richway International) was the inventor of the first BioMat to the marketplace. Specifically, state-of-the-art far infrared heat in the BioMat produces beneficial negative ions. In other words, it is unlike anything else on the market.
The BioMat is manufactured in South Korea; many of the knock-offs are produced in Chinese-based manufacturing facilities. Quality control between the two countries (South Korea and China) is not the same. While these Chinese manufacturers try to imitate the BioMat’s appearance, some accusations are more serious, actually infringing upon the BioMat’s trademark. All of this is confusing and misleading to consumers.
Besides the quality concerns, another big issue is pricing. Some of the bio-mat knock-offs may be cheaper. Buyer Beware: you get what you pay for! While it can feel like a sweet deal to save money, you may have:
- Health challenges that occur from using a BioMat knock-off.
- Extensive problems getting a defective mat repaired.
- Issues reaching anyone if/when you have product usage questions.
The original Richway BioMat is registered, monitored, cleared and approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Richway International is also the developer, and complaint file establishment for the BioMat. This means Richway International is solely responsible for the designing, developing, manufacturing and servicing of the BioMat. None of the knock-offs can begin to make that authentic statement of integrity. In fact, many of the knock-offs only act as a distributor, “pushing” product into the marketplace with no design input, manufacturing or servicing of their products.
We still have more to share about BioMat knock-offs, so watch for next week’s blog post.
