As we mentioned last week, this blog entry will be more about beginning BioMat usage.
For beginning users, we suggest setting a timer to use the professional-size BioMat for only 15-25 minutes on low to medium heat. (You can use the BioMat a couple times per day with 8 to 10 hours between sessions.) You can build in 5- to 10-minute increments per day. (Beginning Mini BioMat users should start with 20-30 minutes on low to medium heat and increase 10 to 20 minutes per day.) Note: this suggestion is because the BioMat is a powerful healing tool; if you use it too long and with too high heat, you will feel nauseous, queasy, icky! There’s no need for this … slow and steady wins the race!!
Some other important tips for beginning BioMat users:
- Remember to drink water before, during and after your bio-mat sessions. (This is especially important to help with detoxing; as you continue to use the Richway BioMat, continue to drink water.)
- Keep in mind the gentler heat settings are lower; the higher/highest settings are for strengthening/boosting your body.
- There are no “hard and fast” rules for time and temperature with the BioMat. We have guidelines from more than 10 years experience of using and sharing the BioMat, but time and temperature is very individualized. It is always based on your physical and emotional needs, as well as your resilience and body’s tolerance. You know your body best; we highly encourage you to listen to your body and be empowered.
- A slow build with the BioMat could look like:
- Start at 122° for 30 minutes for five days
- Then increase the temperature to 131° for 30 minutes for five days
- Then keep the temperature at 131°, but increase the time to 45 minutes for five days, etc.
