One of our jobs is to provide motivation for new BioMat distributors. We love doing this!
Are you self-motivated? A self-starter? When your BioMat business is flourishing, it is fun and exciting. And sometimes, we hit a rough patch and that is when having lots of self-discipline is very helpful. It is during these “down” times that we may lose motivation or lack willpower. To avoid these feelings of being adrift (not motivated without any willpower), we suggest defining your “Why?” What we mean by this is answering questions such as:
- Why do you love bio-mats?
- Why do you love to share it with others?
- What do you hope to gain by having a robust business? Answers may include friends, financial security, helping others with their health (either preventative or with current challenges), connections with like-minded people, personal achievement, flexibility and freedom to “run your own show”, etc.
Knowing your “Why” is something you can come back to at any time to help you stay motivated and perhaps re-trenching to begin anew.
We know sometimes in sales, it is not easy to stay “even kiel.” So, these ideas are “food for thought” to help boost your willpower and stay motivated.
- It is important to stay positive! You may find it helpful to create a list of how you plan to make a positive difference. Referring to this list at any time helps boost your mood and when you feel emotionally good, you are more likely to be productive and successful.
- Avoid procrastinating. One trick is to do the task first that you least like doing. After the short time that it takes to complete it, you are done and this frees up your energy!
These are just a few ideas and we are realizing we are not done with this topic! Watch for more ideas in next week’s blog post.
