This blog article discusses using the BioMat with Parkinson’s and Guillian Barre Syndrome. While these two diseases are unrelated, obtaining more information on both can be helpful for the journey with either of these diseases.
The BioMat can be very calming to the nervous system for those who have Parkinson’s. From a small research study (sample size = five Parkinson’s patients), the following results were highlighted using the BioMat:
- Decreased pain level, stress, fear of pain, side effects, constipation and isolation.
- Increased exercise, activity, sleeping better and appetite.
- Feeling more secure, including around others.
- Less difficulty doing leisure activities.
- Clumsiness improved.
- Difficulties in writing improved.
- Being able to travel.
- Could sit for longer periods of time.
Anecdotal comments from the study include:
“I am sleeping better.”
“I have more energy.”
“My leg cramps ceased.”
“It helps with the stiffness. I don’t have to fight my own body. I think that may be why I have more energy.”
“My fine motor skills/coordination are improving.”
For Parkinson’s patients, start using the BioMat slow and low; build time and temp. You may find deep rest can occur. After a few months, increase length and temperature of sessions, eventually sleeping on it.
For people with Parkinson’s (and actually all BioMat users), it is very important to remember to stay hydrated before, during and after BioMat usage.
In this blog post, we are adding information about Guillian Barre Syndrome because some of the symptoms and managing the symptoms are similar to Parkinson’s (even though the two diseases are completely different).
Although the cause of Guillian Barre Syndrome is unknown, the BioMat can certainly support the systems affected. With Guillian Barre, the BioMat may assist in addressing the immune system and the nervous system, as well as all the others.
The BioMat creates a calming and restorative “cocoon” for the nervous system. Far infrared heat helps increase nerve circulation, as well as allows nutrients to absorb and oxygenation to flow for healing. As the circulation to the nerves is increased, nutrients and oxygen allow for healing. Far infrared heat and negative ions calm the nerves to help with recovery. Disrupted nervous systems mean positive ions surround the myelin sheath of the nerves causing dysfunction of the electrical pathways. Increasing negative ions is very beneficial to the body’s nervous system.
We know the BioMat can help with many different health challenges and this blog post shared information about two different issues: Parkinson’s and Guillian Barre Syndrome.
