In this blog post, we will share more about the history of the BioMat. This historical information comes from a quarterly newsletter that distributors of the BioMat receive called, “The Wave Length.” In one of the last issues, Jeanna Kim was interviewed. Jeanna and her husband, Calvin are native South Koreans and together, they founded Richway International, the BioMat’s parent company.

First of all, the BioMat is rooted in helping people’s health because as Jeanna and Calvin experienced health challenges, they found the BioMat to be helpful and wanted to share it with everyone! This became their number one mission to help with health.

Besides health and healing people, Jeanna mentions helping people with financial prosperity is very important. Perhaps this is why Richway international/BioMat has one of the most lucrative compensation plans in the industry. (Ask any BioMat Distributor who “works” the business and they will be quick to mention this!) She also mentions teamwork and this is reflected in BioMat’s network of distributors. A great quote in the article: “Richway is a teaching business, not a selling business.” We completely agree with this philosophy!

So where did the original ideas about the BioMat come from? Jeanna explains, “Many Koreans were peasants and they did not have many resources. The winters were harsh, yet they never got sick. We wanted to explore why and we found an old Korean technique called Ondol, which is an under-floor heating system. With the Ondol system, living space was always comfortable. This long-established architectural system has been found in archaeological sites as far back as the Bronze Age (1,000 B.C.). Today, it is still used in many modern homes and hotels, and has spread to many neighboring countries. One of the Ondol system’s advantages was that it maintained its heat for extended periods of time, long after the fire was extinguished. Much of the influence of the original BioMat was based on this old Korean technique.”
