In the previous blog post, we began comparing the BioMat to an electric heating pad (from the perspective of the control box’s advanced technology).
It is fair to say an electric heating pad and blanket are quite different (and frankly, inferior) to bio-mats. Further, there are research studies that show how using electric heating pads or blankets can cause “abnormal” cellular carcinogenic activity.
The Richway BioMat is safer utilizing a high tech control system where infrared heat (natural, beneficial light waves) is conducted through amethyst crystals, and negative ions are emitted. It is important that you keep the BioMat’s control box off the actual mat.
The BioMat does not have electrical coils; it does not feel hot to the touch, yet it transfers considerably more heat into the human body. Once you lay on the mat, the heat is radiant and goes into the body six to eight inches versus with a heating pad, which only touches and heats up the skin. In addition, the heat of the BioMat is more evenly distributed into the body than a “surfacey” electric heating pad.
Further, the thermal sensors that are interspersed within the mat automatically shut off when any area on the BioMat goes above the temperature selected. Each user can adjust the BioMat to their preferred temperature, as well as set the timer that is included in the control box. (You can set the timer so that the BioMat automatically turns off after 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours.)
So, hopefully this helps explain more about why bio-mats are not expensive heating pads. There really is no comparison between the well thought out and complex BioMats versus simple electrical heating pads and blankets.
